Why safety is the product

In pet transportation, safety is not a bonus. It is the product. Clients are trusting you with an animal that may be anxious, reactive, elderly, sick, or unfamiliar with your vehicle.

A checklist helps make safety repeatable. It turns every ride into a process instead of relying on memory.

Before pickup

Loading and driving

Loading is one of the riskiest parts of the job. Open doors carefully, control leashes, avoid distractions, and secure the pet before the vehicle moves.

During the ride, drive smoothly, control temperature, avoid unnecessary stops, and monitor signs of stress or motion sickness.

Destination handoff

At the destination, confirm the correct contact, entrance, appointment, or handoff instructions. For vet and grooming jobs, make sure check-in details match the client's instructions.

If anything changes, contact the owner before improvising.

After the ride

After the ride, send a final update, log notes, clean the vehicle, and record anything that should affect future rides.

The next safe ride starts with what you learned from the last one.
