Why updates matter
Pet owners are not just buying a ride. They are buying peace of mind while someone else has their pet.
Updates reduce uncertainty, prevent unnecessary check-ins, and make the service feel professional.
The basic update sequence
- On the way to pickup
- Pet safely picked up
- Pet safely loaded
- Arrived at destination
- Handoff complete
- Final recap after return or completion
Not every job needs every message, but every job needs enough communication to remove doubt.
What to say during delays
If there is a delay, explain what happened, what you are doing, and when you expect the next update. Do not leave the client guessing.
"The appointment is running about 20 minutes behind. I am staying with [Pet] and will update you when we are checked out."
Photo updates
Photo updates can build trust, especially after pickup, arrival, or return. Use photos when they are safe and appropriate, not while driving or handling a stressful situation.
Safety comes before content.
Save your templates
Create saved messages for common moments. Templates make communication faster and more consistent while still letting you personalize each update.
The client should feel cared for, not processed.
